The seal of BydgoszczBydgoszcz: formerly a regional seat, today the largest city of Cuiavia-Pomeranian, Toruρ is the capital. 

It is a  town from 1346, located on the Brda river, ca. 363.000 inhabitants. It is a provincial capital, an has important node of transportation, railway and bus branch-off. Bydgoszcz Canal is between the Notec and Brda, that links the Vistula with the Odra. Bydgoszcz is a city in development, it contains a lot of factories, schools and whatever a town has to contain. Like: a large industrial centre, chemical, machine, rubber, paper, radio, bicycle industries, cultural and scientific centre, Technical and Agricultural Academy, Higher Pedagogical School, National Music College, Medical Academy, scientific institutes, a philharmonic orchestra, opera, operetta, 2 theatres. 

Bydgoszcz is the host of the annual Festivals of Polish Music. And  every 3 year, the host for the international congresses Musica Antiqua Europae Orientalis. In the 13th century a fortified town and castellan's seat, town charter in 1346. Among the relics are a late-Gothic 15th century parish church, church of the Chartists of the end of the 16th century, remnants of defensive walls, river-side granaries. The Leon Wyczolkowski Museum with the richest collection of the works of the great graphic artist and painter. In the Old Market Square is a huge monument to the victims of Nazism. The Main Library of the University of Technology and Agriculture in Bydgoszcz has been existing since 15 February 1975. It came into being, as a result of connecting the libraries of hitherto existing Engineer High School, existed since 1951, and Agricultural Academy in Poznan - a unit in Bydgoszcz, existed since 1965.
The Main Library is an organizational unit with scientific, didactic and service tasks for the whole University. Together with 6 faculty and 3 institute libraries, it creates the integrated library - the informational system. At the same time, it also functions as a commonly accessible scientific library.
