The
world famous Piet Mondriaan (1872-1944), was born in Amersfoort in the
Netherlands, and is one of the pioneers of abstract art. He began a study
at the Royal Art Academy in Amsterdam in 1892.
There he mainly painted landscapes. After his study Mondriaan
experimented with light, color and form. The largest Mondriaan collection in the world can be admired in the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague. "Victory Boogie Woogie", Mondriaan's last painting, is now on display in this museum. |
