Kaiserslautern - Culture

In Kaiserslautern the city council decided in favour of a project which envisions the use of the railway lines to Lauterbach in the north and Weilerbach in the west. Starting from the Kaiserslautern-west railway station, a 2.35 km section through the streets of the town would connect these lines to the city centre and the main railway station.

Football fans can combine a visit to the "Betze", as the stadium is known locally, with their stay at a hotel. To round off the programme, the Tourist and Information Office organizes city tours on which the history of the city can be learned in an informative way. Those looking for peace and recreation can find it on the doorstep: the largest continuous wooded area in Germany, the nature park Palatinate Forest.

Palatinate Forest - Beautiful mountain scenery with plenty of surrounding forest, romantic valleys with crystal-clear sources and creeks, picturesque villages, medieval castles, monuments and "genuine treasures" of museums . Palatinate people in Germany's largest continuous forest area - the Palatinate Forest.

Lake Gelterswoog situated in a charming setting close to Hohenecken, a village belonging to the city. It offers a bathing place popular among the Americans, as well as a recreational area with miniature golf, table tennis and "boule".

The American-German Business Club, Kaiserslautern-Chapter, serves as a point of contact for newly-arriving American business representatives in Germany. It helps to develop and expand contacts between them and the German business Community.

The German-American meeting and information centre in Kaiserslautern will greatly expand the opportunity for American business to make contact with potential German markets.

American Education Facilities are available from Kindergarten to University.
