Dozens of folk song and dance ensembles
are active in Varna. The dance ensemble at
the City of People's Council and the Gold
Necklace awarded to it in Dijon.

The reconstructed ex September 9th and now "Nezavisimost" square in
the city is a favourite place for strolls. Here
the Varna citizens also hold their parades
on big holidays, greeting the leaders of the
city and the district.

The Museum of Icon Painting from the period
of the Bulgarian National Revival, arranged
in the Church of St. Athanasius, is a special
site of Varna.
The Church has an exquisite iconostasis
and a rich collection of icons.

The picturesque building of the Ethnographic
Museum has preserved the interior decoration
of a rich city home of the late 19th century.
